University of Kelaniya Signs an Agreement with Green Building Council of Sri Lanka

An agreement has been signed between University of Kelaniya and Green Building Council of Sri Lanka on the 14th of October 2021 at the Vice-Chancellor’s Office of University of Kelaniya.

This agreement has been signed related to the evaluation of receiving the platinum rating issued by the Green Building Council of Sri Lanka for the proposed building complex on the Faculty of Computing and Technology premises.

Cadre Chair & Senior Prof. Nilanthi de Silva, Vice-Chancellor - University of Kelaniya and Senior Prof. Ranjith Dissanayake, Chairman- Green Building Council of Sri Lanka, Secretary- State Ministry of Rural Roads & Other Infrastructure signed the agreement on behalf of the respective organizations.

This building will be built at a cost of Rs. 4.3 billion under the project Science & Technology Human Resource Development Project, Asian Development Bank.

Senior Lecturer Dr. Chamli Pushpakumara, Head- Department of Applied Computing, Senior Lecturer Dr. Dhammika Weerasinghe, Head- Department of Computer Systems Engineering, other academic staff members of the Faculty of Computing and Technology, K. K. K. Dharmathilaka, Registrar, and the staff members of the Green Building Council of Sri Lanka have graced the event.
