The first of the research seminar series organized by the Research Council, University of Kelaniya was held on the 07^th of November 2018 at the Board Room of the Faculty of Science. The prime objective of this was to establish research culture among the academics representing diverse fields, on order to improve the quality of research, guide research towards national development goals and promote innovations with Patent outcomes that improves livelihood of general public.

The seminar which titled “Researching towards National Development & Commercialization”, was organized aiming the academic staff members of the University of Kelaniya. The seminar was followed by a technical session on Scopus & Scival Facilities for Publishing Research.

Vidya Nidhi Prof. W.M.T.B. Wanninayake graced the occasion as the resource person. Present at the occasion were Cadre Chair & Senior Prof. N.P. Sunil- Chandra, Chairman- Research Council, Lecturer Arjun De Silva, Overall Consultant/ Web Revamping, around 100 academic staff members of the University of Kelaniya, staff members of the Research Council.
