ENGAGE Leadership Course for Students with Disabilities

Certificate Course on Engaging a New Generation for Accessible Governance and Elections (ENGAGE), a political leadership extracurricular course for students with disabilities, was conducted by the International Foundation for Electoral Systems (IFES) and USAID in collaboration with the Inclusivity Centre, Faculty of Humanities from 22.01.2024 to 06.02.2024 at the Inclusivity Centre.

Twenty-one students with disabilities from the University of Kelaniya participated in the ten-day course. The course consisted of eight modules focused on enhancing the knowledge of democratic participation and local political and electoral systems, encouraging peer-to-peer learning, developing critical leadership skills, and building self-confidence. In addition, the course comprised two site visits to offer practical, on-site knowledge.
