The Japanese Club of the Japanese Unit, Department of Modern Languages, University of Kelaniya, organized a Japanese New Year celebration on the 1st of January 2026 at the university premises.

Mr Jayamal de Silva, a Senior Lecturer in Translation Studies/Methods attached to the Department of Linguistics, Faculty of Humanities, University of Kelaniya, has authored a new academic book titled Bhāṣā Parivartana Adhyayanaya. The book was formally presented to the Vice-Chancellor of the University, Senior Professor Nilanthi de Silva on Wednesday, 17 December 2025, at the Vice-Chancellor’s office.
The panel discussions of the 7th International Conference on the Humanities (ICH) 2025, organized by the Faculty of Humanities, University of Kelaniya, were held on Friday, 19 December 2025, at the Ven. Prof. Kotahene Sri Pragnakeerthi Thero Memorial Hall (K14).

Department of Sanskrit and Eastern Studies Hosts Certificate Awarding and Inauguration Ceremony – 2025
The prestigious certificate awarding ceremony for the Certificate Course in Astrology (Group 10) and the Advanced Certificate in Yoga Philosophy (Group 3), along with the inauguration for the new batch of the Certificate Course in Astrology (Group 12), was held on December 20, 2025.
