The panel discussions of the 7th International Conference on the Humanities (ICH) 2025, organized by the Faculty of Humanities, University of Kelaniya, were held on Friday, 19 December 2025, at the Ven. Prof. Kotahene Sri Pragnakeerthi Thero Memorial Hall (K14).
The prestigious certificate awarding ceremony for the Certificate Course in Astrology (Group 10) and the Advanced Certificate in Yoga Philosophy (Group 3), along with the inauguration for the new batch of the Certificate Course in Astrology (Group 12), was held on December 20, 2025.
A guest lecture, organized by the Department of Linguistics, University of Kelaniya, was held on Wednesday, 17 December 2025, at the Department premises. The lecture titled ‘The Return of Diyasena Kumara: Buddhist Millennialism and Political Prophecy in Sri Lanka,’ was delivered by Dr Justin Henry, Bhagwan Padma Prabhu Endowed Assistant Professor in the Department of Religious Studies of the University of South Florida.
The Department of Pali and Buddhist Studies, University of Kelaniya, formally inaugurated a new hostel complex for foreign students on 15 December 2025 at the Faculty of Social Sciences Auditorium, University of Kelaniya, Sri Lanka.
