Vidulakara Piya Saṭahan, the ceremony organised by the University of Kelaniya to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the Vidyalankara Piruvana, Peliyagoda, an institution that played a vital role in the advancement of Buddhist education in Sri Lanka, was held on 27 January 2026 at the Sri Dharmaloka Hall of the University.
Ms Tharushi Yapa, a third-year undergraduate of the B.Sc. (Hons) in Environmental Conservation and Management, offered by the Department of Zoology and Environmental Management, Faculty of Science at the University of Kelaniya, was selected to represent Sri Lanka at the Japan–East Asia Network of Exchange for Students and Youths (JENESYS 2025) programme in Japan in December 2025.
A Dhamma sermon and Dhamma discussion programme, organized by the Buddhist Students’ Association of the University of Kelaniya, was held on 23 December 2025 at the Mee Amba Sewana premises of the University.
