Professor W. A. P. Jeewantha Premaratne officially assumed duties as the Dean of the Faculty of Science, University of Kelaniya, on 26 March 2026 at the Dean’s Office of the Faculty of Science. The appointment letter was officially handed over to the Dean by Senior Professor Nilanthi De Silva, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Kelaniya.
Another session of presenting Senate Awards and Cash Prizes to appreciate the researchers at the University of Kelaniya was held on the 26th of March 2026 at the Senate Room of the university.
The Alumni Association of the University of Kelaniya successfully held its 37th Annual General Meeting (AGM) and get-together on the 22nd of March 2026, at the Indra Hotel, Kadawatha. The event was organized under the leadership of a dedicated executive team, featuring Mr Raja Premadasa, President; Ven. Senior Prof. Malwane Chandarathana Thero, Secretary; Dr S. C. Thushara, Treasurer; Prof. Nishan Sakalasuriya, National Organizer; Mr Nimal Mallawarachchi, Vice President; and Dr Chamila Siriwardene, Deputy Secretary.
The National Awareness Day (NAD) of the Erasmus+ Capacity Building in Higher Education (CBHE) project titled “Developing Information, Research, and Digital Skills for Business, Innovation and Entrepreneurship (NSIS)” was successfully held on 19 March 2026 at the University of Colombo.
