A delegation from Lucknow University, India visited the University of Kelaniya on the 1st of July 2025. The University of Kelaniya has taken a bold step into the future by becoming the first university in Sri Lanka to host a large-scale Wi-Fi 7 network, powered by global technology leader Huawei. This groundbreaking development was officially announced at the Smart University Summit 2025, held on June 20, 2025 at the Goldi Sands Hotel in Negombo and co-hosted by the Lanka Education and Research Network (LEARN).
