Sitagu Sayadaw Ven. Dr. Ashin Nyanissara was awarded the Honorary Degree of Doctor of Literature by the University of Kelaniya at its 143rd convocation, held on 21st of August 2024 at the Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall (BMICH).
Mrs. Vithanage Lilawathi Asilin Dharmaratne, a 97-year-old graduate, graduated with a Master of Arts Degree from the Postgraduate Institute of Pali and Buddhist Studies of the University of Kelaniya at its 143rd General Convocation held on the 21st of August 2024 at the Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall (BMICH).
The Inauguration Ceremony of the Orientation Programme organized to welcome new undergraduates of the 2022/2023 intake of the Faculty of Social Sciences and the Faculty of Humanities was held on the 12th of August 2024 from 08.30 a.m. onwards at the Sri Dharmaloka Hall of the University of Kelaniya.
The “Helabojun” canteen of the University of Kelaniya, constructed under the supervision of the Department of Agriculture, Sri Lanka, was opened on the 06th of August 2024, at the Faculty of Humanities and Faculty of Social Sciences premises of the University of Kelaniya.
