The scholarly discussion regarding “Kodi Gaha Yata” at the University of Kelaniya
The scholarly discussion on “Kodi Gaha Yata”, a popular teledrama telecast on Independent Television Network (ITN) based on a screenplay by Aruna Premaratne and directed by Jagath Manuwarna, was held on the 26th of September at the Auditorium, Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Kelaniya.
The Empowering University Staff with Data and Web Skills (EUS) Project organized its third training program for the Management Assistants of the University of Kelaniya on the 21st of September 2023. The program was held at the K 001 Computer Lab of the Faculty of Social Sciences and was attended by 87 participants.
The objective of the program was to equip the staff with the knowledge and skills to use Office support software and AI-enabled productivity tools to enhance their work efficiency and quality. The program covered topics such as advanced features of Office packages, cloud services, and essential productivity tools.
The resource persons for the program were Senior Lecturer Dr. Chamli Pushpakumara, Dean of the Faculty of Computing and Technology, Prof. Narada Fernando, Coordinator of the EUS, Senior Lecturer Dr. Chathura Rajapakse, Director of the CSPS, Senior Lecturer G. H. B. A. De Silva, the Webmaster, Mr. Dinuka W. Kannangara, the Web Manager, and Mr. Thiwanka Umagiliyage, the Asst. Network Manager. They shared their expertise and experience with the participants and provided them with practical guidance and feedback.
The participants expressed their appreciation and satisfaction with the program and revealed that it was a valuable learning opportunity for them and that they would like to continue participating in the EUS project until its completion. The EUS project is expected to enhance the data and web skills of the university staff and improve their performance and productivity.
The 138th General Convocation of the University of Kelaniya was held ceremoniously on the 14th of September 2023 at the Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall (BMICH), Colombo.
