The Inauguration Session of the “Brain into Business” - Graduate Entrepreneur Program 2026 was successfully held on 19 May 2026 at the Auditorium of the Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Kelaniya. The program is annually organized by the Career Guidance Unit (CGU) of the University of Kelaniya in collaboration with the National Enterprise Development Authority (NEDA) with the objective of promoting entrepreneurship among undergraduates.
Under the University By-laws promulgated for the Inquiry and Redressal of Harassment and Violence in the Working and Learning Environment (Sexual / Gender / General) at the University of Kelaniya, the Centre for Gender Studies initiated a special awareness project to enhance understanding of these by-laws and issues related to Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV) within the university community.
The Centre for Sustainability Solutions of the University of Kelaniya hosted a guest lecture on “From Sustainability Commitments to Global Recognition: Leveraging Sustainability for University Rankings”, alongside the launch of the Annual Sustainability Report - 2025 and the opening of new Display Boards in the university premises to highlight key actions on environmental conservation.
The show Gī Suvaňda, organized by the Arts Council of the University of Kelaniya, for the new undergraduates of the Faculty of Science admitted for the academic year 2023/2024, was held on March 13, 2026, at the Sri Dharmaloka Hall of the University.
