Demonstrating its strong commitment to fostering inclusive leadership and institutional harmony, the University of Kelaniya recently hosted a landmark Training of Trainers workshop titled “Learning to Live with Diversity.” The program was jointly organized by the Centre for Social Reconciliation of the University of Kelaniya and the Centre for Gender Equity and Equality of the University Grants Commission (UGC).

The Centre for Gender Studies at the University of Kelaniya, in collaboration with the Communication & Media Unit, the National Child Protection Authority (NCPA), and UNICEF Sri Lanka, successfully conducted a one-day capacity-building workshop titled "Multidisciplinary Approaches to Ethical Reporting on Child Protection" on 1st July 2025, at the Auditorium of the Staff Development Centre, University of Kelaniya.

The Communication and Media Unit and the Centre for Gender Studies of the University of Kelaniya, in collaboration with the National Child Protection Authority (NCPA), Sri Lanka, successfully organized a capacity-building workshop for journalists under the theme “Let’s Not Turn a Blind Eye to Child Abuse – Taking a Stand to Protect Rights.”

The second phase of the “Young Journalist” training workshop series, organized by the Communication and Media Unit, University of Kelaniya, was successfully held on July 02 and 03, 2025, at the Auditorium of the Staff Development Centre, University of Kelaniya. The workshop was conducted under the theme “Towards a Responsible and Ethical Media Culture.”
