Harmony Week 2025, commemorating International Peace Day, commenced successfully on September 8, 2025, at the Auditorium of the Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Kelaniya, with an inspiring and thought-provoking panel discussion on the theme “Act Now for a Peaceful World.” Organized by the Centre for Social Reconciliation in collaboration with the Department of Philosophy, the event was held under the precedence of Senior Professor Nilanthi de Silva, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Kelaniya.

The workshop was conducted under the theme “Towards a Responsible and Ethical Media Culture.”

The dream of studying overseas moved a step closer to reality for 21 exceptional undergraduate and graduate students of the University of Kelaniya. The students were formally presented with valuable scholarships on the 29th of August 2025, to continue their studies in China and immerse themselves in Chinese language and culture. The university community came together in celebration honoring these promising individuals who are now set to become global connectors and cultural pathfinders.
