Main Event of Career Fair 2026 Successfully Concludes

The Career Guidance Unit (CGU) of the University of Kelaniya successfully organized the main event of Career Fair 2026 on 11 March 2026 at the Faculty of Computing and Technology premises. The event was conducted in collaboration with the CGU’s affiliated student clubs, Rotaract, Leo Club, LED, and Gavel.

The main objective of the event was to provide meaningful opportunities for both graduates and undergraduates to begin their journey into the professional world. The career fair created a vibrant platform for students to engage with industry professionals, build valuable networks, and discover career opportunities, including immediate employment prospects.

A total of thirteen leading companies participated in the event, including Sunshine Holdings PLC, Uzabase, CDB, Olanka Travels, Brandix, A. Baur & Co. (Pvt) Ltd, CAL Group, Dialog Axiata PLC, Infomate (Pvt) Ltd , John Keells Holdings, Janashakthi  Limited, Baker Tilly Edirisinghe, DIMO PLC, and HNB Finance PLC. Their participation brought great enthusiasm and provided valuable exposure for the students.

The event was graced by the presence of Senior Professor Nilanthi de Silva, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Kelaniya, who attended to extend her support and appreciation to the Career Fair Committee. Also present were Senior Professor Dilkushi Wettewe, Director of the Career Guidance Unit, along with Mr K. A. M. Viraj Abeysinghe and Mrs R. P. A. Minoon Perera, Career Counsellors of the CGU and members of the organizing committee of Career Fair 2026.

The event marked a significant milestone in strengthening the connection between the university and the corporate sector while empowering students with career opportunities and industry exposure.
