Ms. Savindi de Silva, a first-year undergraduate from the Faculty of Science, University of Kelaniya, following a BSc Honours in Applied Chemistry, secured the 2nd Runner-up position in the Women’s Singles event and 4th place in the Mixed Double event, at the 55th National Carrom Championship 2025, organized by the Carrom Federation of Sri Lanka. The event was held on the 1st of March 2025, at the SL Carrom Federation Headquarters. Her double partner was Mr. Gihan Chamara Dissanayaka, Carrom Coach of the University of Kelaniya.

An event organized by the Department of Physical Education, University of Kelaniya, to celebrate and honor the students who excelled at the Inter-University Championship 2024, was held on the 7th of January 2025, at the Dharmaloka Hall, under the precedence of Senior Professor Nilanthi de Silva, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Kelaniya.
