Ms. W. A. Methmi Rasara Wijesuriya of the University of Kelaniya, set a new National Record in the Women's 10,000m event, cloaking 33:39:60 seconds at the First National Selection Trials, organized by the Sri Lanka Athletic Association, which was held on the 8th and 9th of February 2025 at Diyagama Stadium.
The Colors Award Ceremony for the years 2023 & 2024, organized by the Department of Physical Education and the Sports Council, was held successfully on the 16th of January 2025, at the Auditorium of the Faculty of Computing and Technology, University of Kelaniya.
An event organized by the Department of Physical Education, University of Kelaniya, to celebrate and honor the students who excelled at the Inter-University Championship 2024, was held on the 7th of January 2025, at the Dharmaloka Hall, under the precedence of Senior Professor Nilanthi de Silva, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Kelaniya.
The University of Kelaniya proudly clinched the overall 1st Runner-Up after 41 years in the history of the Inter-University Championship 2024, marking a significant milestone for the university.
