The first Inter-University Scrabble Tournament organized by the Scrabble Federation of Sri Lanka was successfully held on the 26th of April 2026 at the Faculty of Engineering, University of Peradeniya.

Participating universities included the University of Kelaniya, University of Colombo, University of Peradeniya, University of Moratuwa and University of Ruhuna.

The University of Kelaniya delivered an outstanding performance at the tournament, securing top positions in multiple categories. The Women’s Team A emerged as the First Runners-Up, while the Women’s Team B claimed the Second Runners-Up position. The Men’s Team A also achieved the First Runners-Up title, demonstrating the university’s strength and competitiveness in the sport.

Securing placements in three categories among 15 competing teams stands as a remarkable achievement and reflects the dedication, skill, and teamwork of the University of Kelaniya’s Scrabble players.
