A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the University of Kelaniya and the Union Assurance PLC on the 13^th of November 2024 at the Vice-chancellor’s Office.

Mr. Senath Jayathilaka, Chief Executive Officer of the Union Assurance PLC, signed the MoU representing the Union Assurance PLC, while Senior Professor Nilanthi de Silva, Vice-chancellor of the University of Kelaniya, signed on behalf of the university.

The MoU was signed to launch an exclusive Diploma and Higher Diploma in Financial Services Management for the selected agents and employees of Union Assurance PLC.

Present at the occasion were Prof. Bandara Wanninayake, Dean of the Faculty of Commerce and Management Studies; Mr. Ruwan Buddhika, Coordinator of the Higher Diploma in Financial Services Management; Mr. K. K. K. Dharmathilaka, Registrar of the University of Kelaniya; Ms. Achini Hettiarchchi, Senior Assistant Registrar of the Faculty of Commerce & Management Studies; heads of the departments and other academic staff members of the Faculty of Commerce & Management Studies; Ms. Nisansala Paranayapa, Chief People Officer of the Union Assurance PLC; Mrs. Amalie R. Abeysundara, Head of UA Learning Academy, Union Assurance PLC; Mrs. Shehara Bandarathilleke, Manager of UA Learning Academy, Union Assurance PLC; and other members of Union Assurance PLC.
