The Department of Finance of the Faculty of Commerce and Management Studies (FCMS), University of Kelaniya, proudly marked a significant milestone by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Austral Group of Australia on 10 July 2026 at the Senate Room of the University.
The Department of Finance of the Faculty of Commerce and Management Studies, University of Kelaniya commemorated its 15th anniversary by ringing the Market Opening Bell at the Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE) on 24th June 2026, marking its years of contribution to fostering successive generations of Sri Lankan financial specialists, investment professional and corporates.
Dr Ruwan Buddhika, a Senior Lecturer attached to the Department of Finance, Faculty of Commerce & Management Studies, University of Kelaniya, authored two new academic books titled “Buddhist Meditation” and “Guide to the Study of Theravada Buddhism: Main Dhamma Concepts”
Senior Lecturer Dr Ruwan Wijesinghe officially assumed duties as the Head of the Department of Finance, Faculty of Commerce and Management Studies, University of Kelaniya. The letter of appointment was handed over by Senior Professor Nilanthi de Silva, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Kelaniya, on 10 June 2026 at the Vice-Chancellor’s office.
