The Central Business Incubator (CBI) organized a five-day workshop in association with Youlead Lanka and the Vocational Training Authority of Sri Lanka (VTA) to educate undergraduates about venturing. The event was started on the 7th of September 2023 in the Faculty of Commerce and Management Studies. Representing all faculties in the university, more than 30 students participated in the workshop.
The workshop was named “Adithalama”, and it provides knowledge for undergraduate start-up businesses in the university. The program is well developed by the experts in the industry with the support of USAID.
Youlead Lanka, generously presented a set of 50 manuals for upcoming entrepreneurs and the Vocational Training Authority of Sri Lanka (VTA) contributed two of their best trainers Mr. Chamil Sumanadeera and Ms. Surangi Rathnayake to conduct the workshop.
The inauguration of the event was graced by Mr. Harsha de Silva, Director of Entrepreneurship, Mr. Chrishan Pereira, Chief of Party, Project Director, Mr. Harith Ranathunga, Assistant Manager, Entrepreneurship from Youlead Lanka, Senior Lecturer Dr. Srinath Dissanayake, Director of the Central Business Incubator, Senior Lecturer Dulip Anuranga, Lecturer Randini Ranwala, Lecturer Suchintha Nimeshi, Lecturer Sachintha Sarathchandra from the Department of Commerce and Financial Management and Lecturer Viraj Weerawickrama from the Department of Accountancy, who will also be the resource persons for the remainder of the workshop.
