An engaging and informative awareness session on opportunities for scholarships and fellowships in the United States, organized by the Centre for Management Research, Faculty of Commerce and Management Studies, University of Kelaniya, was held on the 14^th of May 2025 at the Staff Development Centre of the university.

Professor Bandara Wanninayake, Dean of the Faculty of Commerce and Management Studies, graced the event as the chief guest.

The session was conducted by Dr. Patrick McNamara, Ph.D., Executive Director of the United States–Sri Lanka Fulbright Commission. Dr. McNamara, who previously served as a Fulbright-Nehru Senior Scholar in India and as a Fulbright Program advisor at the University of Nebraska Omaha, shared his expertise on a range of scholarship and fellowship options available to Sri Lankan academics.

Participants gained valuable insights into the application process, eligibility criteria, and benefits of programs such as the Fulbright Program, among others. The event was well-received and served as a motivating platform for faculty members aspiring to broaden their academic horizons internationally.

The session was attended by faculty members from various departments, who expressed great interest in exploring academic and professional development opportunities in the United States.
