University of Kelaniya and Senfin Securities Sign an MoU to Advance Financial Literacy and Capital Market Education

The University of Kelaniya, in a significant step toward strengthening industry-academic collaboration, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Senfin Securities Limited on July 2, 2025, at the Senate Room of the University.
Senior Professor Nilanthi de Silva, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Kelaniya, and Mr. K. K. K. Dharmathilaka, Registrar, signed the MoU on behalf of the university. Professor Bandara Wanninayake, Dean of the Faculty of Commerce and Management Studies, and Professor H. A. K. N. S. Surangi, Head of the Department of Commerce and Financial Management, witnessed the signing.
Representing Senfin Securities Limited, Mr. D. A. Perera, Chief Executive Officer, and Ms. E. G. D. M. Ellepola, Deputy Chief Executive Officer, signed the MoU. Ms. B. D. Hewawitharana and Ms. D. I. Jayarathna, Junior Analysts – Research, served as witnesses on behalf of the company.
The Department of Commerce and Financial Management (DCFM) played a central role in initiating this collaboration. This MoU marks the beginning of a long-term collaboration anchored in the shared commitment to enhance the financial literacy of Sri Lankan youth.
