A one-day Media Workshop, organized by the Communication and Media Unit, University of Kelaniya, was successfully held on June 4, 2026, at the Auditorium of the Staff Development Centre, University of Kelaniya. Conducted under the theme “Effective Language Usage and Creative Writing,” this workshop was held in parallel with the “The Art” program of the Vidulakara TV YouTube channel.
The Graduate Entrepreneur Exhibition & Sale (GEES) 2026, organized by the Career Guidance Unit (CGU) of the University of Kelaniya in partnership with the National Enterprise Development Authority (NEDA) and the Rotaract Club of the University of Kelaniya, was successfully held on 3rd June 2026 at the university premises. Marking its fourth consecutive year, GEES remains a flagship entrepreneurial initiative that enables undergraduates to showcase their innovations, gain market exposure, and develop their business potential.
Mr Arthur Rapp, Director and Ms Nishka Thukral, Executive Assistant from the DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service) Regional Office, New Delhi, India and Ms Nimaya Manudewa, Regional Officer from the Information Centre in Colombo, visited the University of Kelaniya, on 25 May 2026. The university library organized a tour for them. Prof. Ishanka Karunarathne, former DAAD Research Ambassador, and alumni also joined them.
The musical show Gī Rasa Mihira, organized by the Arts Council of the University of Kelaniya for the newly admitted undergraduates of the Faculties of Social Sciences and Humanities for the academic year 2024/2025, was held on May 20, 2026, at the Sri Dharmaloka Hall of the University. The event was organized in parallel with the orientation programme for the new undergraduates.
