A delegation from the University of Jaffna visited Kalana Mithuru Sewana (KMS) at the University of Kelaniya on 18 May 2026 to learn about the Centre's establishment, services, and operational framework.

The team, led by Ms Sivagowri Rajashanthan, Director of the Center for Gender Equity and Equality (CGEE) and Senior Lecturer at the Department of English Language Teaching (DELT), included Ms Ridophilla Luckson, Chairperson, Monitoring & Evaluation Committee (CGEE); Mr Sathiyakumar, Chairperson, Research and Education Committee; Mr Kalki Paramanathan, Member, CGEE, Department of Pharmacology; Dr Mrs A. Sritharan, Member, CGEE, Faculty of Siddha Medicine; and Mr S. Navaneethakrishnan, Member, CGEE, Department of Sanskrit.

During the visit, the delegation engaged in detailed discussions with Dr K. R. N. Harshani, Director of Kalana Mithuru Sewana; Senior Prof. Susima Weligamage; Ms Vimansa Ranasinghe; and Ms Harshani Kariyawasam about KMS's services. Following the comprehensive discussion, the team toured the KMS facility to observe the center's operations firsthand. The University of Jaffna aims to use insights from this visit to prepare a proposal for establishing a similar student-friendly support center at their institution.
