The musical show Gī Rasa Mihira, organized by the Arts Council of the University of Kelaniya for the newly admitted undergraduates of the Faculties of Social Sciences and Humanities for the academic year 2024/2025, was held on May 20, 2026, at the Sri Dharmaloka Hall of the University. The event was organized in parallel with the orientation programme for the new undergraduates.

The programme featured approximately twelve songs with beautiful lyrics and melodies from the golden era of Sri Lankan music. As a tribute to the singers, lyricists, and musicians of that era, the artists behind those timeless creations were also introduced to the younger generation by name.

The musical event was organized with the objectives of enhancing the artistic talents of senior university students, providing them with an opportunity to showcase their skills to the university community, encouraging their creative expression through social engagement, and offering entertainment and mental relaxation to the newly admitted students. The announcements and literary introductions for the programme were also presented by senior students of the university. The event was organized under the guidance of Professor Uda Hettige, Chairman of the Arts Council of the University of Kelaniya.
