The Peer Counseling Certificate Distribution Ceremony, organized by the Kalana Mithuru Sewana of the University of Kelaniya, was held on March 17, 2026, at the Auditorium of the Faculty of Science, University of Kelaniya.

The event was graced by Senior Prof. Nilanthi de Silva, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Kelaniya, as the chief guest, while the keynote address was delivered by Emeritus Prof. Mangalika Hettiarachchi, former Director of Kalana Mithuru Sewana.

The event also marked the official inauguration of the third batch of the Peer Counseling Programme. Dr Kumudu Sumedha, Director of the Centre for Social Reconciliation; Dr.l Sulochani Ramanayake, Deputy Director of the Centre for Gender Studies; and staff members of the Career Guidance Unit of the University of Kelaniya participated in the ceremony.

On this occasion, letters of appreciation were also presented to the resource persons of the peer counseling program and various activities, as well as to students who rendered voluntary service at several events organized by Kalana Mithuru Sewana.
