The “Announcing Workshop 2025”, jointly organized by the Art Council of the University of Kelaniya and the Sri Lanka Broadcasting Corporation (SLBC), was successfully held from July 14 to 18, 2025, at the SLBC premises.

The primary objective of this workshop was to provide students with systematic theoretical and practical training in professional announcing, thereby equipping them with the necessary knowledge and skills to excel in the field. Additionally, the workshop aimed to familiarize students with the professional broadcasting environment at SLBC and expose them to the latest technologies and practices in the industry.

A total of  36 students with an interest and aptitude in announcing participated in this program. The workshop was designed to enhance both their professional competencies and innate talents through hands-on experience and expert guidance.

The certificate awarding ceremony was held on July 18, 2025, under the patronage of Senior Professor Nilanthi de Silva, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Kelaniya. The event was also graced by Dr. Uditha Gayashan Gunasekara, Chairman of SLBC; Professor Uda Hettige, Chairman of the Art Council, University of Kelaniya; and Mr. Indika Jayaratne, Director, Research Training and Foreign Relations, SLBC, along with other SLBC staff members.
