Another session of presenting Senate Awards and Cash Prizes to appreciate the researchers at the University of Kelaniya was held on the 22^nd of January 2025 at the Senate Room of the university.

Researchers whose papers were published in internationally recognized journals, were appreciated and the Senate Awards and Cash Prizes were awarded to the researchers by Senior Professor Nilanthi de Silva, Vice-chancellor of the University of Kelaniya. Moreover, the deans of the faculties, heads of the departments, and members of the Senate graced the event.

Ms. S. W. I. Udara of the Department of Marketing Management was the awardee from the Faculty of Commerce and Management Studies.

Dr. Rasika Rajapaksha of the Department of Computer Systems Engineering was the awardee from the Faculty of Computing and Technology.

Prof. Nayana Gunathilaka of the Department of Parasitology and Dr. K. W. S. M. Wijayawardhana of the Department of Anatomy were the awardees from the Faculty of Medicine.

Senior Prof. Janitha Abeywickrema Liyanage, Prof. D. S. M. De Silva, Prof. Jeewantha Premaratne, Prof. Suranga Wickramarachchi, and Ms. Ashini Athukorala of the Department of Chemistry, Prof. R. M. C. S. Ratnayaka, Prof. Renuka Nilmini Attanayake, Dr. Wasana de Silva, and Ms. Kalmi Siridewa of the Department of Plant and Molecular Biology, Prof. W. M. Dimuthu Nilmini Wijeyaratne of the Department of Zoology and Environmental Management, and Dr. W. G. C. Kumarage of the Department of Physics and Electronics were the awardees from the Faculty of Science.

Prof. N. V. Chandrasekara, Dr. Hewa Wellalage Basitha Kavinga, and Mr. Damika Nadeekantha from the Department of Statistics and Computer Science of the Faculty of Science were awarded Senate Honours for the Scopus-Indexed Conference Full Papers.
