The ground breaking ceremony of a new building complex for the Faculty of Computing and Technology was held on 04th of December, 2020 at Mudun Ela land which belongs to University of Kelaniya.

The event was organized by the Faculty of Computing and Technology with the objective of marking the commencement of the given construction.

The ceremony was graced by Cadre Chair & Senior Prof. Nilanthi de Silva, Vice-chancellor of University of Kelaniya as the Chief Guest. Senior Lecturer Dr. Gamini Wijayarathna, Dean- Faculty of Computing and Technology, Senior Lecturer Rev. Dr. Kapugollawe Anandakiththi Thero- Chief Student Counsellor, Senior Lecturer Rev. Dr. Malwane Chandarathana Thero, Head- Department of Sinhala, Academic Staff Members of FCT, Mr. W. M. Karunaratne- Registrar & non-academic staff members also attended the ceremony.
