Annual Scientific Session of Sri Lanka Association for Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (SLAFAR) 2020

26th Annual Scientific Session of Sri Lanka Association for Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (SLAFAR) was held on 10th of December, 2020 at the Aquaculture Building of Faculty of Science, University of Kelaniya.

It was organized by Sri Lanka Association for Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (SLAFAR) and the Department of Zoology & Environmental Management, University of Kelaniya.

Objective of this scientific approach is to share scientific research findings on the fisheries and aquatic resources. This year’s theme for the session was “Aquatic resource management in a post-pandemic era.” Cadre Chair & Senior Prof. Nilanthi de Silva, Vice-Chancellor, University of Kelaniya graced the event as the chief guest. The keynote speech was delivered by Dr. Yugaraj Singh Yadava, Director- Bay of Bengal Program, India.

Other distinguished guests at the occasion were Senior Prof. S.R.D. Kalingamudali, Dean- Faculty of Science, Prof. M.G. Kularathna, President- SLAFAR, Senior Lecturer Dr. H.A.C.C. Perera, Secretary- SLAFAR, Dr. Gihan Dahanayake, Vice- President- SLAFAR, Prof. Upali Amarasinghe, other academic staff members & Cadre Chair & Senior Prof. N.P. Sunil-Chandra, Chairman- Research Council participated virtually.
