Opening ceremony of CKDu Research and Information Centre of University of Kelaniya was held on 07^th of January, 2020 at the Faculty of Science, University of Kelaniya. CKDu Research and Information Centre has organized a Pirith Deshanawa and Alms-giving program along with the opening ceremony.

CKDu Information and Research Centre is engaged in basic, high caliber research focusing on 07 different thematic research areas including water quality, soil and sediment quality, food safety, nano-material applications, water purification techniques, toxicology, and microbiology to investigate the root causes for the prevalence of CKDu in Sri Lanka.
