The Government of Sri Lanka (GoSL) and World Bank have agreed to support the higher education sector through a World Bank funded Accelerating Higher Education Expansion and Development (AHEAD) operation and intend to apply part of the proceeds of this loan, to develop an Internship Unit for the Faculty of Humanities. Faculty of Humanities intent to make payments under the contract for a Soft Skills Develop Manager to be employed at Internship Unit, Faculty of Humanities, University of Kelaniya.

We are seeking a self-motivated and energetic person with the perfect blend of core competencies to join the Internship Unit under Faculty of Humanities. The ideal person will possess a minimum educational qualification of bachelor’s honors degree with at least second lower class. The ideal candidate should also have 2-3 years of similar work experience with attributes/qualifications listed out below.

Including of an internship program/industrial training program under applicant’s degree program

Ability to develop soft skills among students

Ability to conduct internship programs for students

Ability to build up good communication between university and industry personnel

Ability to carry out key managerial and documentation tasks effectively and efficiently

Ability to interact with senior academic and administrative staff in the university

Ability to function effectively in a team environment inspiring trust and cooperation of other team members

Strong communication and negotiating skills and good interpersonal relations

Applicants with higher qualifications and work experience will also be given priority. Appointment will initially be made for one year which may subsequently be renewed for another team based on work performance and satisfaction.
