“Mandodari 2023”, an orator contest was organized by the Centre for Gender Studies of the University of Kelaniya, in celebration of Women’s Day this year. It was held at the B343 hall on the 8^th of March 2023.

Over 20 twenty contestants competed at the event while U. G. D. W. Preethimali from the Department of Political Science was awarded as the ‘Best Orator’. Meanwhile, M. Savindu Iroshan from the Department of Mass Communication won the 1^st runner-up, Chathuri Bhagya Ranasinghe from the Department of International Studies, and W.  Achini  Hansika from the Department of International Studies secured the 2^nd runner-up position.

Dr. Sulochana Ramanayake Deputy Director, Centre for Gender Studies, Senior Lecturer Indiwari Galagama, Department of Philosophy & Probationary Lecturer Waruni Kumarasinghe Department of International Studies were the members of the judging panel.
