The second workshop of the EUS Project, which is a joint initiative of the Staff Development Centre of the University of Kelaniya, was held on 7^th September 2023 at the Staff Development Centre, University of Kelaniya.

The objective of the event was to brainstorm about a smart working culture. The workshop focused on the management training program for the staff of the University of Kelaniya and had five sessions.

Senior Prof. Nilanthi De Silva, Vice Chancellor of the University of Kelaniya was the chief guest of the event. The participants were greeted by Prof. Narada Fernando, Coordinator of the “Empowering University Staff with Data and Web Skills” project. The first session was delivered by Senior Prof. Nilanthi De Silva, Vice Chancellor of the University of Kelaniya, who outlined the “Strategic direction of the University of Kelaniya in the years to come and the need to change to survive and thrive”. The second session was conducted by Senior Lecturer Dr. Chamli Pushpakumara, Chairman of the University Rankings Advisory Committee, and the Dean of the Faculty of Computing and Technology. Senior Lecturer Dr. Ruwan Wickramarachchi, Director of ICTC, participated in the panel discussions and shared his insights on the current state of the information systems. The third session was led by Senior Lecturer Dr. Chathura Rajapaksha, Director of the Centre for Strategic Planning and University Statistics. The fourth session was about “Leadership challenges and effectiveness in a crisis situation” and it was facilitated by Mr. K. K. K. Dharmathilaka, Registrar of the University. The workshop concluded with a presentation by Senior Lecturer G. H. B. A. De Silva, University Webmaster, who shared some AI tools that could help with daily tasks. The last part of the workshop was the certificate distribution ceremony, where Senior Prof. Nilanthi De Silva, Vice Chancellor of the University of Kelaniya handed over the certificates to all the members of the Management Team, University of Kelaniya.
