Staff Development Programme for Probationary Lecturers – Circle 26

The Staff Development program for probationary lecturers (Circle 26) has commenced at the Staff Development Centre, University of Kelaniya. The program started on the 16th of February 2024 at the Auditorium of the Staff Development Centre. This program aims to provide valuable training and support to probationary lecturers from various institutions.
Nearly 58 probationary lecturers representing the University of Kelaniya, the University of Moratuwa, Sabaragamuwa University of Sri Lanka, Saegis Campus, the University of Vavuniya, Bhiksu University of Sri Lanka, the University College of Batangala, National School of Business Management, Sri Lanka Institute of Development Administration, and National Institute of Social Development participated in the program. This diverse representation will undoubtedly enrich the learning experience for all participants.
The inauguration of the program was graced by the esteemed presence of Senior Professor Nilanthi de Silva, Vice Chancellor of the University of Kelaniya, who served as the Chief Guest. Professor Ravi Dissanayake, Director of the Staff Development Centre, also played a pivotal role by introducing the program to the participants. Additionally, the presence of Mr. K. K. K. Dharmathilaka, the Registrar, and faculty coordinators further underscored the significance of this initiative.
This program conducted by the Staff Development Centre of the University of Kelaniya since 1998, is one of the leading and most in-demand staff development programs in Sri Lanka and was the first such program to obtain ISO 9001-2015 Standard Certification.
