A Book Donation Programme, organized and coordinated by the Communication and Media Unit of the University of Kelaniya under the guidance of Senior Lecturer Saman Rajapaksha, Director of the Communication and Media Unit, was held on the 19^th of May 2025 at the Senate Room of the University.

The donation was made by the Sirasa Gammadda Project in commemoration of the birthday of the late Mr. R. Rajamahendran, former Chairman of the Capital Maharaja Organization.

The event was held under the patronage of Senior Professor Nilanthi de Silva, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Kelaniya. It was also graced by Professor M. M. Gunathilake, Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences; Dr. Sudath Senarath, Dean of the Faculty of Humanities; and Dr. C. C. Jayasundara, Librarian of the University.

Representing the Sirasa Gammadda Project were Mr. Wasantha Pradeep Masinhage, Director of the Depanama Broadcasting Station; Mr. Udaya Wanniarachchi, Gammadda National Coordinator; Mr. Gihan Udyoga, Gammadda V-Force National Coordinator; and Mr. Chameera Jayawardana.

During the ceremony, the books were officially handed over to Senior Professor Nilanthi de Silva by the Gammadda representatives. The Vice-Chancellor then presented the collection to Dr. C. C. Jayasundara, Librarian of the University.

The event was attended by academic staff members, university library staff, members of the Communication and Media Unit, and students, marking a meaningful gesture of collaboration and commitment to education.
