In a proud moment reflecting a year of impactful progress, the Annual Sustainability Report 2024 of University of Kelaniya was officially handed over to Senior Professor Nilanthi de Silva, Vice Chancellor of the University of Kelaniya,

by Dr. Wasanthi Subasinghe, the Director of the Centre for Sustainability Solutions (CSS), and Professor Madurika Nanayakkara, Deputy Director of the CSS, on June 23, 2025.

The handover, held at the Vice Chancellor’s office, marked the culmination of months of dedicated work in compiling and analyzing the university’s sustainability performance across key areas such as energy efficiency, biodiversity conservation, waste management, and community engagement.

The Annual Sustainability Report 2024 aligns national and global frameworks, including the UI GreenMetric World University Rankings and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). It highlights transformative initiatives led by students and staff that position the University of Kelaniya as a role model in Sri Lanka’s green university movement.
