Training Session on ‘Soft Skills’ for Non-academic Staff Held at the University of Kelaniya

The Staff Development Centre (SDC) of the University of Kelaniya successfully conducted a training session on Soft Skills for the University’s non-academic staff on September 23, 2025, at the SDC Auditorium.

The program was attended by 65 non-academic staff members representing all departments and centres of the University. The session aimed to enhance employability and professional development by focusing on essential soft skills such as positive attitude, communication, teamwork, emotional intelligence, adaptability, and personal branding.

The event was graced by the presence of Mr. K. K. K. Dharmathilake, Registrar of the University of Kelaniya, and Dr. Chathuri Senarath, Acting Director of the Staff Development Centre, who also addressed the gathering.

The resource person for the session was Major Anura Pandithage, a retired commissioned officer of the Sri Lanka Army. With over 20 years of extensive military experience in both operational and peace areas, Major Pandithage brings with him wide expertise in military strategy, personal administration, and logistics management. His professional background, enhanced by the successful completion of numerous local and foreign training courses, enriched the session with valuable insights and practical knowledge.
