A training program on Drug Prevention for security personnel, Sub-Wardens, and Assistant Student Counsellors of the University of Kelaniya was successfully conducted by the Staff Development Centre (SDC) on January 20, 2026, at the SDC Auditorium. The program was attended by 50 staff members.

Dr Kasun Fernando, Director of Student Affairs, and Mr Namal Bandara, Chief Security Officer, were also present at the event.

The training sessions were conducted by Ms Priyadarshani Rathnayake and Mr W. G. Supun Udana, Educational Officers of the Ministry of Public Security and Parliamentary Affairs. Their valuable expertise and practical insights made the program highly informative and impactful, enhancing participants’ awareness and capacity in drug prevention within the university setting.
