Dr. Chamli Pushpakumara assumed his duties as the new dean of the Faculty of Computing and Technology

Dr. Chamli Pushpakumara assumed his duties as the new dean of the Faculty of Computing and Technology on the 1st of January 2022 as the second dean of the faculty.

Dr. Chamli Pushpakumara graduated from the University of Kelaniya with B.Sc. (Honours) Degree in Industrial Management from the Faculty of Science, the University of Kelaniya in 1993 and obtained his PhD in Global Manufacturing Systems from Sheffield Hallam University in 1999. Further, He was the Head of the Department of Industrial Management, Faculty of Science from 2011 to 2016 and Head of the Department of Applied Computing, Faculty of Computing and Technology from 2016 to 2017.

The newly appointed dean served as the University Coordinator of the ADB funded Science and Technology Personnel Development Project from 2001 – 2004 and he is currently serving as the Deputy Project Director, Project Implementation Unit, University of Kelaniya of the ADB funded Science and Technology Human Resource Development Project from which the Faculty of Computing and Technology has received ADB funding over LKR 5 billion through this project.

Dr. Chamli Pushpakumara is currently engaged in the training of academics in innovative teaching methods and has work experience in two blue-chip companies in Sri Lanka. His research interests include Operations Strategy, Competitiveness, Management of Technology, and Teaching Methodology. Prior to this appointment, he was the Head of the Department of Applied Computing.
