4th Undergraduate Research Symposium 2024 in advance to the 9th International Conference on Advances in Technology and Computing (ICATC) 2024, organized by the Faculty of Computing and Technology, was held on the 22^nd of November 2024 at the Auditorium of the Faculty of Computing and Technology, University of Kelaniya.

The main focus of the event was to provide students with an opportunity to showcase their innovative projects, research, and problem-solving skills. It fostered a collaborative environment for knowledge exchange, encouraged critical thinking, and enhanced communication skills.

The event was graced by Professor Sachith Mettananda, Chairman of the Research Council, University of Kelaniya, while other honourable guests included Dr. Chamli Pushpakumara, Dean of the Faculty of Computing and Technology; Professor Dhammika Weerasinghe, Head of the Department of Computer Systems Engineering; Dr. Sidath Liyanage, Head of the Department of Software Engineering; Mrs. Chandrika Godage, Deputy Registrar of the Faculty of Computing and Technology; and all the directors of centers attached to the Faculty of Computing and Technology. The keynote speech was delivered by Dr. Laalitha Liyanage, Head of the Department of Applied Computing.

The symposium provided a unique platform to bridge ideas across multiple disciplines, fostering discussions that challenge boundaries and inspire progress. It was a kind of space where novelty met creativity, and solutions emerged to address the pressing challenges of our context.

The event witnessed the participation of the academic and non-academic staff and the students of the Faculty of Computing and Technology.
