The inauguration ceremony of the 17^th Batch of Master of Arts in Sinhala was held on the 6^th of April 2024 at the Auditorium of the Ven. Kotahene Sri Pragnakeerthi Thero Memorial Hall (K - 14) at the University of Kelaniya.

Professor Swarna Ihalagama, Head of the Department of Sinhala welcomed the gathering. Chair and Senior Professor Nimal Mallawarachchi delivered the keynote speech while Professor Jinadasa Danansooriya delivered the Guest Speech. The event’s conclusion was marked with a Vote of Thanks by Professor Bihesh Sampath who was the coordinator of the degree program.

The ceremony was graced by Dr. Sudath Senarath, Dean of the Faculty of Humanities, and Senior Professor Kapila Seneviratne, Dean of the Faculty of Graduate Studies as the Chief Guests. Academic Staff, Non-academic Staff, and Students of the Master of Arts in Sinhala also participated in the ceremony.
