A Delegation from China Visits the University of Kelaniya

A delegation of over 50 delegates, including the chief incumbents of Hualing and Lingjiu temples in China, visited the Department of Pali and Buddhist Studies of the University of Kelaniya, under the coordination of foreign nuns studying at the Department of Pali and Buddhist Studies of the University of Kelaniya, on the 06th of December 2024.
During the discussion held at the Department of Pali & Buddhist Studies, University of Kelaniya, the main attention was paid to the opportunities for foreigners in Buddhist studies. Furthermore, ideas were also expressed about China-Sri Lanka Buddhist relations. Afterward, they also visited the university library.
Senior Professor Makuruppe Dhammananda Thero, Head of the Department of Pali and Buddhist Studies of the University of Kelaniya; Professor Rajitha Pushpakumara; Senior Lecturer Amila Kaluarachchi; Senior Lecturer Muwapetigewela Pannaloka Thero; and many other academic and non-academic staff members participated in this event.
