The Certificate Awarding Ceremony of the Certificate Course in Tamil for Foreign Students was held on August 1, 2025, at the Vice-Chancellor’s office, University of Kelaniya.

The occasion was graced by Senior Professor Nilanthi de Silva, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Kelaniya; Dr. Sudath Senarath, Dean of the Faculty of Humanities; Rev. Dr. Kapugollawe Anandakiththi Thero, Senior Lecturer and Head of the Department of Linguistics; and academic staff members of the department.

During the ceremony, five Chinese students who successfully completed the course were awarded certificates in recognition of their achievement.

The event reflected the Department’s contribution to promoting language learning and strengthening international academic exchange.
