The International Conference on the Humanities- ICH organized by the Faculty of Humanities was held on the 14^th and 15^th of March 2019 at Dharmaloka Hall, University of Kelaniya. The conference is organized annually with the objective of promoting quality research in the Humanities discipline.

This year’s conference seeks to explore the role of “value” in the Humanities disciplines and invites both intra and inter-disciplinary research papers that question, critique, demarcate, or otherwise subject value, humanities values and the values of the humanities to close scrutiny.

The keynote address of the inauguration was delivered by Emeritus Prof. Ayadeva Uyangoda while the guest speaker was Dr. Claudia Augustat from Weltmeuseum Wien in Vienna.

The event was held under the patronage of the Vice- Chancellor, Prof. D.M. Semasinghe. Present at the occasion were Senior Prof. Lakshman Senevirathne, Deputy Vice- Chancellor, Prof. Patrick Rathnayake, Dean- Faculty of Humanities, Senior Lecturer Dr. P.N.D. Fernando, Dean- Faculty of Commerce and Management Studies, Prof. A.H.M.H. Abeyrathne, Dean- Faculty of Social Sciences, Cadre Chair and Senior Prof. N.P. Sunil- Chandra, Chairman- Research Council, academic staff members of the Faculty of Humanities and undergraduates.
