A discussion on recognizing and referring to undergraduates with mental distress and the role of university lecturers in this regard was held on the 19^th of October 2022, from 9.00 am to 12.00 pm at the Senate Room of the University of Kelaniya.

The program was organized by the Department of Psychiatry of the Faculty of Medicine.

The discussion focused on areas; why university students become distressed, how can such students be identified, substance use and ADHD among undergraduates, and how to improve coping skills and mindfulness among undergraduates.

Senior Professor Nilanthi de Silva - Vice Chancellor of the University of Kelaniya, academics of the Department of Psychiatry; Senior Professor K. A. L. A. Kuruppuarachchi, Professor Aruni Hapangama - Head of the Department, Professor Shehan Williams, Dr. Chamara Wijesinghe, Professor Miyuru Chandradasa, Dr. Roshan Fernando, and Dr. Anuradha Baminiwatte participated in this discussion.
