An award ceremony organized by the Medical Library, Medical Faculty Library Development Committee, and the Library Student Affairs Committee of the Faculty of Medicine, University of Kelaniya was held on the 28^th of July 2023 from 11.30 am onwards at the Main Auditorium of the Faculty of Medicine.

The event was organized in parallel with the World Hepatitis Day. The objectives of the event were to make students aware of the library resources, to motivate students to use library resources, and to improve student involvement in Library matters.

At this event, cash awards and certificates were awarded to the Best Library Users and Winners of the Online Library Quiz organized by the Medical Library. It was for the first time that the library rewarded the best user. The student committee also launched the first issue of the E-Library Newsletter edited by them at this ceremony.

Senior Professor Janaki De S Hewavisenthi, the Dean Faculty of Medicine, graced the occasion as the chief guest. Moreover, Professor Anuradha Dassanayaka delivered a guest lecture on Hepatitis.

Academic staff and undergraduates of the Faculty of Medicine were also present at the occasion.
