International Conference on Applied and Pure Sciences 2020 (ICAPS 2020) organized by the Faculty of Science, University of Kelaniya was held online on 26^th of November, 2020 in Multi-Media Room of Department of Industrial Management.

The key objective of this conference was to provide a common platform for scientists all around the world to showcase their research findings in a professional forum. Themed on “Science, Technology and Innovation for Economic Recovery”, ICAPS 2020 portrayed its timely importance and the vital consideration in the global context today.

Cadre Chair & Senior Prof. Nilanthi de Silva, Vice-Chancellor of University of Kelaniya graced the event as the chief guest.

The keynote speech was delivered by Prof. Tilak Abeysinghe, Senior Research Advisor & Visiting Professor- Asia Competitiveness Institute, Former Professor of Economics- National University of Singapore & Research Director- Gamani Corea Foundation, Colombo.

The distinguished guests present at the occasion were Senior Prof. S.R.D. Kalingamudali, Dean- Faculty of Science, Cadre Chair and Senior Prof. N.P. Sunil Chandra, Chairman- Research Council, Senior Lecturer Dr. Annista Wijayanayake, Chairperson- ICAPS, Senior Lecturer Dr. Nadeeka Premarathna, Secretary- ICAPS, Heads of the departments of Faculty of Science, other academic staff members of the faculty & researchers.

Research abstracts, extended abstracts and case studies from science researchers and practitioners made the conference a grand success.
