A Female Entrepreneurship Bootcamp at the University of Kelaniya

One day Female Entrepreneurship Bootcamp, a 10,000 Ideas Program event targeted at women technopreneurs was successfully held on 22nd December 2022 in the boardroom of Faculty of Science, University of Kelaniya.

The workshop entitled, Empowering Women Technopreneurs of UoK was collaboratively organized by the Industry Interaction Cell for Computing & Technology (IICFCT), the University Business Linkage Cell (UBLC) and the Information and Communication Technology Agency of Sri Lanka. (ICTA).

All aspects of startup development (design, research, and prototyping) were covered in great detail throughout this Bootcamp. Mentoring and training events were held throughout the day to help women business owners understand the resources available to them in Sri Lanka's thriving startup ecosystem, from the ideation stage all the way through to product development.

The resource persons contributed to this workshop were, the Lead Facilitator of this Entrepreneurship Bootcamp, Ms. Nevindaree Premarathne, Founder and CEO of The Makers, the Mentor, Ms. Pulani Ranasinghe, the founder at Loons Lab, the Mentor, Mr. Akeel Ahamed, Executive Startup Ecosystem Development at ICT Agency of Sri Lanka, the speaker, Mr. Angelo Pereira, Program Design Advisor, WUSC/ICTA strategic partnership, the Mentor, Ms. Charindra Wijemanne, Co- founder/ CEO at Maturify, the Mentor, Mr. Dhammika Marasinghe, Associate Technical Lead at Maturify, the Mentor, Mr. Ushan Chaminda, Co- founder/ CEO of Gavesha Labs, the Mentor, Ms. Lihini Senanayake, Co- founder, Software Architect at Gavesha Labs.

A certificate of participation was awarded to all the female undergraduates who attended the workshop. The one-day workshop was successfully wrapped up with the inspiration for the next program; the 10,000 Ideas.
