An Undergraduate Student at the University of Kelaniya Receives an Electric wheelchair as a Donation

An electric wheelchair was donated to support a differently abled undergraduate student at the University of Kelaniya. The official handover of the electric wheelchair took place on the 25th of September 2023, by Dr. Sudath Senarath, Acting Vice-Chancellor and Dean of the Faculty of Humanities.
In response to a request from Senior Professor Sudath Kalingamudali, Dean of the Faculty of Science, addressed to both the alumni of the Faculty of Science and friends in Australia, Canada, the United Kingdom, and the United States, contributions were sought to purchase an electric wheelchair. The appeal received encouraging support from well-wishers within just one month.
Present at this significant occasion were Professor M. M. Gunatilake, Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences, Senior Professor Sudath Kalingamudali, Dean of the Faculty of Science, Dr. Sujeewa Wijesiri, Head of the Department of Mathematics, Ms. Subha Rathnayaka, and Ms. Janani Mudage, Assistant Student Counsellors, and the mother of the student.
