The inauguration ceremony of the orientation programme of the Faculty of Science was held on the 22nd of April 2024 at 9.00 a.m at the Sri Dharmaloka Hall of the University of Kelaniya. The event was organised to welcome the new undergraduates of the 2022/2023 intake.

Senior Professor Nilanthi de Silva; Vice-Chancellor of the University of Kelaniya, Senior Professor Sudath R. D. Kalingamudali; Dean of the Faculty of Science, and Mr. K. K. K. Dharmathilaka; Registrar of the University of Kelaniya, addressed the new undergraduates during the inauguration ceremony.

The orientation programme will continue until 26th April 2024, with academic activities commencing on 29th April 2024.

Heads of the Departments and Units of the Faculty of Science, Dr. Kasun Fernando; Director of Student Affairs at the University of Kelaniya, Dr. Ruwan Wickramarachchi; Director of the ICT Centre, Dr Binuka Gunawardena; Senior Student Counsellor of the Faculty of Science, Ms. S. Nagarajah, Assistant Registrar of the Faculty of Science, Senior Academic Advisors of the Faculty of Science, academic staff, academic support staff,  and other non-academic staff of the Faculty of Science were also present at the occasion.
