The beginning of a three-day orientation program organized by the Department of Industrial Management, Faculty of Science for their new first-year undergraduates was held on the 4^th of March 2024 at the Auditorium of the Department of Industrial Management. This orientation was introduced before the commencement of the BSc Honors in Management and Information Technology degree program for the 2022/23 batch.

The objectives of this program were to familiarize the new undergraduates with the university, academic programs, various services provided by the university, facilities provided by the university, and more importantly what the university expects from the undergraduates.

The event was graced by Senior Professor Nilanthi De Silva, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Kelaniya, Senior Professor Sudath Kalingamudali, Dean of the Faculty of Science, Professor Janaka Wijayanayake, Head of the Department of Industrial Management, Staff of the Department of Industrial Management, Undergraduates of the 2022/23 batch, and Parents of some of the new undergraduates.
