The Master of Information Technology Program 2025, conducted by the Department of Industrial Management, University of Kelaniya, commenced on a high note with the successful inauguration of its 7th intake on the 26th of July 2025.

Held at the Department Auditorium., the ceremony was  enriched by the presence of Senior Professor Sudath Kalingamudali, Dean of the Faculty of Science, who encouraged students to embrace both the opportunities and challenges that lie ahead in their academic path.

Additionally, the event was graced by several distingushed members of the academic staff, including Senior Lecturer Dr. Dilani Wickramarachchi, Head of the Department of Industrial Management; Senior Prof. Janaka Wijayanayake; Prof. Ruwan Wickramaarachchi, Director, ICT Centre; Senior Lecturer Dr. Amila Withanaarachchi, Coordinator, Master of Information Technology program; Senior Lecturer Dr. Chathura Rajapakse, Coordinator, Master of Data Analytics Program; Senior Lecturer Dr. Keerthi Wijayasiriwardhane; Senior Lecturer Ms. Chalani Oruthotarachchi, Coordinator, Master of Science in Management and Information Technology Program; and Ms. Dinithi Lorensuhewa, Temporary Lecturer in the Department of Industrial Management.

The gathering witnessed an impressive turnout of approximately 75 students, reflecting the program’s continued growth, relevance, and impact over the years.

Following the inauguration, the students had the opportunity to interact with Dr. Dilani Wickramaarachchi and Dr. Amila Withanarachchi, helping to establish a strong foundation for a supportive and encouraging learning environment.

The Department of Industrial Management has long cultivated a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and a student-centered academic environment that empowers learners to reach their full potential.
