A workshop on Curriculum Development & Stakeholders Meeting of MSc Degree in Industrial and Environmental Chemistry organized by the Department of Chemistry was held on the 04^th of September 2018 at Hotel Clarion, Kiribathgoda, Sri Lanka.

 The workshop was held with the objective of examining curriculum models and learning strategies for assessing, creating and restructuring curriculum of postgraduate degree program in Industrial and Environmental Chemistry to produce expert graduates and professionals required by industries and organizations dealing with environmental protection. The workshop covered the Quality Assurance (QA) in postgraduate education and Sri Lanka Qualifications Framework (SLQF) in postgraduate degree programs in producing skillful graduates.

The keynote address was delivered by Prof. Deepthi C. Bandara, Director- Quality Assurance Council, University Grant Commission. The main resource persons of the workshop were Prof. Veranja Karunaratne, Senior Professor in Chemistry, University of Peradeniya & the Vice Chancellor of SLINTEC Academy and Dr. Upali Mampitiya, Senior Lecturer in Mathematics and Member- Standing Committee on Quality Assurance, University Grants Commission.

The workshop was coordinated by Dr. W.A.P. Jeewantha Premaratne, Coordinator of the MSc Degree Program in Industrial and Environmental Chemistry and Prof. Janitha A. Liyanage, Head of the Department of Chemistry. Prof. Ariyarathna Jayamaha, Dean- Faculty of Graduate Studies, Prof. B.M. Jayawardena, Dean- Faculty of Science, Prof. Patrick Ratnayake, Dean- Faculty of Humanities, Dr. Gamini Wijayarathna, Dean- Faculty of Computing & Technology, Dr. Narada Fernando, Dean- Faculty of Commerce & Management Studies, Heads and academic staff members of the Departments of the Faculty of Science, research scientists, engineers, technologists, research & development and research & innovation personnel, managers, professionals and educationists from both cooperate and government sectors participated in this event.
